Catch the Rare Full Moon

A rare full moon will light up the skies on Christmas Day according to NASA. The last time this occurred was in 1977 is also called the Full Cold moon because it occurs during the beginning of winter.

Whether you watch from the Seattle to New York, this rare event won't occur again until 2034.  Jesse Tam ready for the view across the northwest skies.

On December 25, the moon officially becomes full at 6:11 a.m. so take time and look up at the skies on Christmas and maybe you'll get a glimpse of the full moon. The previous full moons in all of the 20th century on Christmas were in: 1901, 1920 and 1977.

Enjoy the Christmas full moon view and special holiday gift.   Don't miss the chance to see this event or wait until the 21st century.

Melor Tyhoon Threaten Philippines

The Philippines is battered by an average of 20 typhoons annually.  More than 700,000   people in the central Philippines fled to safer area for fear of giant waves, floods or landslides as Typhoon Melor continues to materialized.  The powerful winds might bring waves to 13 feet waves, blow off tin roofs and uproot trees. Heavy rain could trigger flooding, landslides and power outages throughout.

The typhoon is expected to cut across the central heartlands in the early hours of Tuesday before heading out to the South China Sea in the west.  Stormy weather has forced the cancellation of 40 domestic flights and halted 625 passenger and cargo ferry.

Melor could reach central Philippines as the equivalent of a Category 2 or 3 hurricane.  The greatest impact from the system would likely be in the eastern areas not sheltered by the rugged terrain of the region. The Seattle area has many friends, relatives and sister city in the area.  Jesse recalls the countries many small islands while traveling in the pacific.
